The Instrumental Department of the XIV Winter Arts Festival International Academy includes all instruments of the string group as well as opera and symphony conducting.
The violin classes are led by Professor Tatiana Samuel of the Queen Elisabeth Academy and the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp (Belgium).
Wilfrid Strehle, a legendary concertmaster in the Herbert von Karajan orchestra, recipient of the European Parliament Prize, and a member of the Berlin Philharmonic chamber ensembles, will conduct masterclasses on viola.
Jens Peter Mainz, Professor at the University of Arts in Berlin and the Reina Sofia College of Music in Madrid, will give master classes on the cello.
The solo piano will be presented by Professor David Lively, head of the examination board at the École Supérieure de Musique de Paris.
The double bass class will be led by Prof. Jan Krigovský, professor at the Banská Bystrica Academy of Arts and president of the Slovak Society of Contrabassists.
Freddy Cadena, Professor of Opera Training at the Russian Specialised Academy of Arts, founder and director of the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra of the Moscow Union of Composers, and conductor of the Novaya Rossia Symphony Orchestra, will carry out master classes in conducting.
A joint grand gala concert will be held at the Organ Hall on February 26, in which members and teachers of the Instrumental Department will be accompanied by the All-Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Freddy Cadena.
