The winner of the IV Young Composers Composition has been announced in Sochi

The winner of the IV Young Composers Composition in memory of Alfred Schnittke and Svyatoslav Richter has been announced in Sochi within the XI Winter International Arts Festival.

Pyotr Dyatlov (Russia) awarded the 1st prize of the competition, he presented an exquisite piano quartet alternating atonal parts in the spirit of Schnittke with melodic parts, interesting methods of polyphony and voice leading. The monetary component of the premium is 100 thousand rubles.

It was decided not to award the II prize.

The third prize was divided by the jury between Daniil Posazhennikov with a trio for violin, cello and piano (Russia), Roman Galiev with a piano quartet (Russia) and Merdan Byashimov with the piece “Howsala” (from Turkic “Confusion”) (Turkmenistan). They will receive 40 thousand rubles each.

Maria Anikeeva (Russia) with her play “Dreams. On the verge”, Anastasia Shesterikova (Russia) with “Trio to Wednesday” and Yakub Polatsuk (Poland) with the play “Culms of Time” for Piano Quintet received two diplomas and a sum of 20 thousand rubles.

The competition was attended by 25 young composers, 7 of them reached the final, where their works were played by musicians of the “Moscow Soloists” chamber ensemble.
